Studio Policy
Please read this policy before your first class. By booking a session, you agree to these terms.
Arrival & entry
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your class starts. This gives you time to settle in, remove shoes, and prepare before the session begins.
We allow a 5-minute grace period after the class start time. After that, entry will not be permitted — late entry disrupts the class for everyone already inside.
Parking
The studio is located at 27 Homestead Ave, Bryanston. Dedicated parking is available at 21 Homestead Ave, two houses down.
Gate access instructions will be provided here. Please contact us if you need assistance with parking.
Phones & recording
Please keep your phone on silent mode during class.
Filming is permitted for personal use. If your video may include other people in the class, please check with them first before recording. If they prefer not to appear, angle your shot so only you are in frame.
We love seeing your content — tag us @pulse.lab.wellness and we may share it.
Dress code & what to bring
Wear comfortable clothing that allows a full range of movement. There is no strict dress code — just make sure you can move freely in what you wear.
What to bring:
- A towel for personal use
- A bottle of water
- Dance & Core Fit classes: trainers or supportive shoes
- Pilates & Reformer classes: grip socks (strongly recommended — bare feet are not permitted on the reformer)
After booking, you will receive a confirmation email with specific tips for your class type.
Our Responsibility
We believe your body is a temple — and that how you move matters as much as the fact that you move. Every class at Pulse Lab is designed with your physical and mental wellbeing at the centre. We hold space for you to show up as you are, and we take seriously our responsibility to keep that space safe, clean, and worthy of the effort you bring to it.
We uphold this through:
- High-quality equipment and props — cleaned and sanitised after every session, so every class you attend is a safe, effective environment built around what your body actually needs
- BASI certified instructors — trained to the highest standard in Pilates instruction. Read more about BASI →
- Open communication — we encourage you to speak to your instructor before class about any injuries, physical limitations, or health conditions. Knowing your level and any restrictions allows us to offer modifications, alternatives, and variations so you can work safely and get the most out of every session. Nothing is too small to mention — our instructors are here to support you, not judge you.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation window
You may cancel a booking at any time up to 24 hours before the class starts. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the class start time cannot be processed — the booking is considered used and no refund or credit will be issued.
How to cancel
Log in to your dashboard and click Cancel next to your upcoming booking. If the 24-hour window is still open, you will be offered the choice of how to proceed.
Please note: Bookings made using a class card credit are not eligible for cancellation. Once a class card credit is used to confirm a booking, it cannot be returned.
Option 1 — Cash refund
Your class payment will be refunded to the card you used to pay. Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days.
Please note: Yoco (our payment processor) charges a processing fee of 2.95% + R2 per transaction, so the refund amount you receive will be slightly less than what you originally paid. The exact net amount is shown to you in the cancellation screen before you confirm.
Option 2 — Studio credit
Instead of a refund, you can keep the full class value as studio credit.
- Credit is valid for 30 days from the date of cancellation
- Credit can only be used for classes of the same price as the class you cancelled
- Credit cannot be transferred to another person
- Credit is not redeemable for cash
You will receive an email confirming your credit details after cancellation. Your credit will appear in your dashboard with the expiry date. When you book a class of the same price, you will be offered the option to use your credit instead of paying.
Class card bookings
If you booked a class using a class card credit, the following rules apply:
- Class card bookings cannot be cancelled
- Credits are valid for the account holder only — they cannot be shared, transferred, or used to book for other people
- Each credit books one spot for yourself only — credits cannot be used for group bookings
- Class card cancellations are not eligible for a cash refund
- No Yoco processing fee applies
If you would like to book a class for someone else, use the single-class booking option and pay by card.
Participation Waiver
1. Health
I confirm I am fit to participate. If I have a medical condition, injury, or physical limitation, I will obtain clearance from a doctor before attending. I understand that while Pilates can support rehabilitation, it is my responsibility to be aware of my body's limits and to communicate anything relevant to my instructor before class — every session, not just the first.
2. Risk
I understand that exercise carries risk of injury. By attending, I accept this and take full responsibility for my own safety.
3. Instructor Guidance
I agree to follow the guidance of my instructor throughout class. If they suggest I stop or modify an exercise, I will do so — I understand this is always in my best interest and the interest of the group.
4. Liability
I understand that Pulse Lab is not liable for injury, illness, or loss arising from my participation in classes — unless caused by their proven negligence.
5. Filming
I agree to obtain consent from anyone who appears in my shot before recording. I also consent to Pulse Lab filming or photographing sessions I attend for studio use.
6. Belongings
I understand that Pulse Lab is not responsible for my personal items if lost, stolen, or damaged on the premises.
7. Agreement
I confirm my participation is voluntary. By booking a class, I confirm I have read and accepted this waiver. South African law applies.
